Do you think the injector pump is going out? I was told it was new when I got the tractor a few years ago. The starter is spinning pretty good during this attempt. It runs smooth and has OK power, but if you shut it off and go to start right back up it takes cranking to get it to catch. If I leave the battery charger on the tractor set to the boost setting on it will crank fast enough to finally catch and run. When I took a line of going to an injector it didn't seem to have a lot of push behind it. I pulled the return line apart and did not find any debris and has flow going back to the tank. I went thru the fuel system and cleaned out some crud and it is getting good fuel flow to the injector pump. A week or so ago it quit smoking while cranking. It would smoke but take some cranking to catch. Hi Larry, I have a 1655 Diesel that has always been a little hard starting when cold. If it was mine, I would consider eliminating it.
